News from Convention

  •   Beginning with the 2019 occasions catalog and Sale-A-Bration brochure, all new stamp sets will be available either in cling (for red rubber stamps) or photopolymer.
  •   Stamps in the 2018-2019 annual catalog will continue to be available in clear-mount, wood-mount, or photopolymer.
  •   Red rubber stamp sets (clear-mount or wood-mount) in the annual catalog that will be carrying over will transition to cling with the 2019-2020 annual catalog. Watch for more information about carryover stamp sets in April 2019 with the regularly scheduled communication about catalog transitions, the carryover list, and the retiring products list.
  •   In 2019-2020 annual catalog, clear-mount and wood-mount stamps* will no longer be available. The only exception is background stamps in North America only, which will still be available in wood-mount.
    •   *Wood-mount stamp set sales have been steadily declining for several years. Stampin’ Up! research and sales teams took this and several other factors into consideration before discontinuing wood-mount stamps. We are confident the transition to cling stamps will be beneficial in many ways for demonstrators, customers, and the company.

New Card Ideas

This card was made for a friend whose husband raised peacocks.  I used a stamp set
that just retired, some gold foil cut using a thinlit, a doily and  sequins along with a glittery ribbo
that also retired as of  June 1st.

I made this card out of several items that I had in stock.  I didn't have a graduation set so when
that happens we just have to be creative!

This card was created using Lovely as a Tree and Seasonal Layers thinlit.  I simply sponged on the background and stamped the trees on top then glued the chairs in place.  I love how it turned out!

I recently got invited to a housewarming party.  I had nothing that would work for a card but found an image from a long ago retired stamp set and worked around it to create this card.

Thanks for looking.  I hope you enjoyed my recent creations and hopefully you will get
inspired to get into your stamping rooms!

 Retiring Lists and Color Revamp

The above picture includes product from a NEW bundle that will be available to customers next month, “Share What You Love”.
REASONS FOR THE COLOR REVAMP (from SU)
• Our last color revamp was in 2010 (eight years ago) when we changed many colors in our offering.
• Our last color refresh was in 2013 (five years ago) when we changed just a few core colors.
RECENT STAMPIN’ UP! COLOR HISTORY
• We looked at sales and eliminated low sellers to make room for something new.
• We conducted color trend research and identified gaps in our current color offering.
• We explored different ways to group colors into collections; we wanted each collection to have a color spectrum element and include colors that worked best together. This meant that we had to change existing collections.
CHOOSING WHAT STAYS AND WHAT GOES
• Sales data tell us what is popular and what’s not. Everyone has their favorite colors, but we can’t ignore the fact that some colors just don’t sell well even though they may be a favorite color for a very small group of people.
• Color trends change over time and we want to keep our color offering fresh, new, and relevant. Cycling through different variations of color keeps our palettes fresh. Color trends are what keep us loving color and keep us excited about what will come next.
• New colors open possibilities for color coordination and the opportunity for exciting new color combinations.
With the number of colors being retired, that means if you have a favorite, you may want to stock up ASAP.  I say that because retiring colors of ink, re-inkers and cardstocks are the first to sell out.  The accessories and embellishments are often the next to go, so make your list.

This particular product can sometimes seem confusing when it comes to retirement time.  Let me try to better explain...

As you may notice on the retiring lists - ALLBUNDLES SHOW AS RETIRING.  That's because Bundles are available with the 10% savings only during the first catalog they are debuted in.  Having said that...even though a BUNDLE retires doesn't always mean the product is retiring, some of the bundle products will carryover.  So here is the list of bundled products that are officially retired and will be gone after 5/31.

BUNDLES RETIRING - will be gone after 5/31
If any of these bundles are on your wish list - get them now before they are gone.  (See shopping links below)

BUNDLES RETIRING, BUT - will be available as individual products  June 1st - without 10% discount If any of these bundles are on your wish list - get them now before the Bundle 10% discount pricing goes away!

Here's my recommendation:
  • check the first list above against your wish list and get those first (sooner the better as these will only be available while supplies last).
  • then review the second list and if you'd like to save 10% on any of those - you'll want to get them by May 31st.  Discount pricing will NOT be available after May 31st.
  • You'll find all BUNDLES in the online store retiring section.  Shop for Bundles HERE.

 2018 OnStage - Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Name uncertain

I just returned from Stampin Up's Midwest Regional Conference in Milwaukee.  I am so stoked about  the new catalog and all the new products that will be available June 1st!  I'd like to thank my roommates Deb, Norma and Christine for such a fun time!  I received  some darling "Pillow Gifts" the night we stayed at the Springhill Suites by Marriott downtown Milwaukee.

Pillow Gifts
My group, the "Madison Area Stamping  Stars" held a group swap. These cards should give you some ideas for card designs.

Sorry I can't share pictures of cards made with new stamp sets.  I will as soon as I can.  Be sure to come back soon!

I received some awesome gifts just for attending.  We received a very cute shoulder bag for carrying all of our goodies along with a new stamp set, planner, pens and lighted  tabletop message board for craft shows, events, etc.

Carolyn Lucas - North West Wisconsin

Robin Vought - Hudson, WI

The  new catalogs were passed out with lots of excitement in the room.  One of the best reasons for attending the event is to receive the catalog 2 months ahead of when it goes live and to be able to pre-order select items April 9th!

We enjoyed watching employees from the home office and select demonstrators make some very cute cards sharing new and exciting techniques.
Terry Schultz - Cross Plains, WI

Nancy Esveld - Fall River, WI
We had some stamping time both in the morning and afternoon.  We made 2 in the morning session and 2 in the afternoon.  Sorry but I can't share them here yet!  Stampin Up always supplys a box lunch with a cookie or brownie for dessert along with a bottle of water.  During lunch time we can wander around trading cards, visiting and/or taking pictures of the display boards of numerous cards and new products.
Linda Hartwich - River Falls, WI
Amanda Frankel - Burr Ridge, IL
Jo Anne Barker - Janesville, WI

Joyce Hall - Hudson, WI
Deb Geir - Marshall, WI
Lynn Schwiebert - Osceola, WI
The Prize Patrol came through several times a day so everyone got a stamp set.  I think about 6 different ones were passed out and at the end they passed out another stamp set to everyone!  I ended up with 4 FREE stamp sets! After a wonderful day of stamping each table of 6 split all of the new Stampin Up supplies at their table from Stampin Up.  I received a spool of Velvet Ribbon, a new Blends colored marker, Stamping Ink Pad, and a packet of 14 note cards and envelopes.  Woo Hoo!

Katie Johnson - Stoughton WI

If you would love to be included in a group like this be sure to check back here soon.  I am looking for that special person to join my group.  We have monthly group stamping events in Madison and quarterly local stamping events.  The next one is in Mc Farland in June.  The 30th Anniversary Celebration of Stampin Up will be held in Orlando in November.  I am planning to attend with others from my group.  Join us!

Here is a couple of ideas for St. Patrick's Day.

I made this card with large hearts cut out of DSP and the smaller ones out of Garden Green CS.
The tail was cut from a matching ribbon.  I used the greeting from Tiny Tiny Wishes stamp set.  I embossed the edges and raised it up with dimensionals.

This is a home decor item that I made using digital images as a background. I cut large hearts with  Thinlets out of Glimmer Paper that I died green with a re-inker.  The Shamrock doesn't look great in this picture but it looks fine in the frame that I purchased.  It is displayed on the wall of my stamping room for the month of March .
